Day 7 - Thursday 20 September - Metallic scrunchies!

Today was a bit chillier than yesterday, so I felt a bit tired and lethargic. Because I wasn’t as alert as usual my mummy checked up on me because she was worried. She felt my ears and they didn’t feel as warm as usual, so she made me a hot water bottle and wrapped me in a towel. That perked me right up! I snuggled in the blanket practically the entire day.

Not the entire day though, since she got me a cat board for my kibblets!

Doctor M recommended it to her. She said that her cats love it so much that she now uses it every day for all their dry food! My mother had high hopes for it since it was a board, and not a tower, which meant that I could see all the little kibblets lying there, just waiting for the grabbing…  At least, that was the idea! I didn’t feel really hungry today, perhaps because of the cold weather, so I didn’t feel like fishing for kibblets and gave up after half a minute or so to watch CatTV.

There was one thing my mummy gave me which I really liked! Since my mother ordered the board from Zooplus, and she needed tot order for a minimum of € 20,- she bought the cheapest cat toy available to reach that amount. The toy she got me was some kind of metallic looking scrunchy. It makes the most delicious sounding sound ever when you bite it! I don’t really play with it yet, but I like lying next to it and hitting it with my paw every now and then.

Day 1 - Friday 14 September 2018 - The Car accident

On this horrible day, I was hit by a car. The awful driver didn’t stop to check whether I was okay and I had to make the long way home by myself. I couldn’t use one of my legs, so when my mummy called me because she was looking for me, I dragged myself with my two front paws to the garden, where she found me in agony. My nails and paws were damaged, and she took me straight away to the veterinarian. There they made X-rays under sedation because I was in a lot of pain. When my mummy saw the x-ray she knew I was in trouble. She had hoped for a simple fracture, but instead, it was a comminuted fracture, where my left femur had splintered into more than two fragments (see image).     The vet told her that at least the good news was that it was a closed fracture. She then said that there were two options. A) surgery with metals, pins and metal thread to repair the bone. B) amputation. My mummy immediately said that B was not an option. I’m a very active kitten! I lov...

Day 5 - Tuesday 18 September - There's no getting out!

I felt really good this morning. I could stand on my leg, could walk quite well, in fact. In fact, I decided it was time I left my safe haven and ventured into the real world again! I tentatively placed my two front legs outside of the bench and was about to venture forward by moving my hind legs when I felt a palm on my face, stopping me and preventing me from going outside. ~denieeeed~. I wasn’t that upset though, and just calmly went to lie down on my blanket. After some time, my mummy opened the door to cuddle with me and give me my food and medication. Today I saw my stepbrother Sirius again. I really missed him, and when he entered through the bedroom door, I laid down on my blanket and started purring. I even stretched my front paw out so he could touch it, but he just sniffed and jumped onto my bench! My mother was unsure whether she should let him near me or not, since I still smell a bit funny after spending a few days in the hospital. Eventually she decided to tr...

Day 6 - Wednesday 19 September - Ignored by mummy!

This morning I felt even better than yesterday! Alright, I still suffer from diarrhoea, but I’m taking so many different kinds of medication that that’s not really a surprise. Nevertheless, my mummy called the vet to voice her concern! The vet reassured her that it was the medication, likely the antibiotics, and that it would go away once my medication stopped. Anyway, there’s only so much television you can see right? It’s been fun, in my catcave, but it’s time to get out now and get back to business! I was determined to get out and tried passing mummy’s hands several times, but she wouldn’t let me! I wouldn’t give up though, like I did yesterday, and tried every trick in the book to get out. I started mewing softly and complainingly, but she ignored me! The nerve! I reached with my paw to her to get her attention, but she ignored me again! I stood on my hindlegs to see if there was an exit near the ceiling, but there wasn’t any that I could find. Eventually I decided that if I...
